You know what? Fine. We all saw it coming anyways. We've seen it coming since season 3. And season 4 was just a total disaster without Dan Harmon, and I'm not just saying that in a "We should all worship Dan Harmon" type way - I mean, who is he, Joss Whedon? - it's just that everything was noticeably off.
And then season 5 comes around. Harmon's rehired. And I only got around to watching the first two episodes of season 5 (I've been meaning to watch more) but both those episodes were absolutely hilarious and awesome and great. Abed's Nicolas Cage freak-out is one of the best things I've ever seen.
And season 5 is funny and awesome and the fans are back on board and lovin' it.
And then they cancel it.
Again, we've all seen this coming from the start. But first of all, this was terrible timing, it's like euthanizing someone after they recover from the sickness, and second of all, THEY ALL KNEW ABOUT THE SIX SEASONS AND A MOVIE HASHTAG. EVERYONE KNEW ABOUT IT. IT WAS IN THE FINAL SCREEN OF "INTRODUCTION TO FINALITY".
SO THEY CANCEL THE SHOW RIGHT BEFORE THE SIXTH SEASON?!?!?!
For those who don't know, the resounding call to keep Community on the air has had many tunes, from Greendale is where I belong, to Happy October 19th, but the most prominent one is, of course, six seasons and a movie. Deriving from this clip as Abed expresses his love for The Cape:
But we didn't. NBC couldn't even give us that small victory.
So farewell Community. Me, my Community T-shirt, my Troy and Abed in the Morning mug and all seven of my little Christmas Community figurines will all miss you greatly.
*sniffle sniffle*
