Horror Sneak Peek Coming SOON!

Stay tuned, people who read this. Because an exclusive sneak peek of me and Jacey's horror movie is coming soon. Just thought I should let you know that yes, we have actually begun filming it. It shall not simply disintegrate into the crumbs of an idea. I'm working on the suspense - it's hard to get suspense just right - but I think it should be good. So stay tuned!

Mission Accomplished!

Guess what? Can you guess? Can you guess? No? Well I'll TELL you!

I finally finished the book I was writing!

Thirty six chapters. Been writing for over a year now. No big deal.

Except I was kind of rushing the last chapter, so it's not that good at all. I could definitely make it better. But that's okay, because that is what editing is FOR.

Do you want a sneak peek? I thought you would. I'll let you in on a little taste of the writing of my amazingness. So do not fret. Are you ready? The readers of my blog shall be the first ever public to read even part of the most amazing book ever written. So as soon as I find the right part of the book to keep you hooked, keep looking out for that sneak peek!

Horror Movie YES!

So, I don't think I've told you, but I'm a total horror movie buff. I LOVE horror movies. And I'll be honest, a lot of the time I can't handle it. But I just love being freaked out of my mind. (I now think that Gage (Pet Sematary) either lives under my bed or has possessed my favourite doll, so you see what I'm saying).

As you know, I also love to make movies. So, now my friend Jacey and I are making a horror movie! Well, we haven't really started filming yet, but we're bouncing ideas offa each other so we're getting along fine.

I'll try not to give away too much, but I'll only tell you this: Jacey is one creepy gal. So this is gonna be one creepy movie!

One more thing. I really want to make a full sized hour long movie, so that's my other goal. I think we could pull that off, though, with just the right balance of horror and confusion. We've got a lot of creepy sets, so I can't wait to get started!

Jacey keeps telling me not to get my hopes up because we keep on saying we'll make a movie and then we go ahead and don't. But I'm going to keep my hopes up because we're getting serious about this, real freaking serious, and I just plain won't let Jacey get away without making this movie. I'm itching to use my new version of iMovie and this seems like the perfect experiment.

Any horror fans out there? Fear not! I'll put the finished product of our movie in parts onto the blog so you won't be missing out. Don't worry! I'm always willing to show off.

Peace out, Homers.
Megan

It's Not That Important

Okay, I'm feeling a bit angry right now. Everyone is always trying to get me mad by singing songs they know I hate, like Katy Perry and Kesha. Then when I said I hated Kesha more, they said "Good job, Megan. That's a step in the right direction." As if by hating Katy Perry I was being unreasonable! As if it was against all human nature to have an honest and separate opinion! Gee, thanks a lot, Anna. Anna, just because I don't like the same kind of music as you doesn't mean you have to act like I have a disease or something!

The thing is, they also make fun of me. Like, "Oh, 80s music is so last year." And I'm like, uh yeah, it's 80s music. That's the idea. But still everyone tries to make me mad, and then laugh when I try not to kill them.

The other thing is, they think I'm mad when they sing the songs because I hate the song so much. And it's partly true. But the real reason I get so mad is because THEY'RE singing it. They're singing about making out and who knows what else, not even caring about what it means, and what makes me mad is that they're completely sucked in. So I try to make their life better so they don't end up ruining their lives because of the stupid messages in pop "music", and they laugh at me for my troubles. Well, thanks. Next time you want my help, just don't bother asking.

And sure, they like some of the music I like, but that's not the point. they still act like they know everything and I'm making the worst mistake of my life by listening to music that DOESN'T encourage me to throw myself at every guy who happens to pass by. Yes, you're completely right, Anna. Excuse me for listening to music with virtue. And rhythm. And real drums in the background. And solid melodies. And everything real music possesses.

Why does everyone love to hate me?

Peace out, Homers. (I'm obsessed with the Simpsons, so instead of homies, I'm calling you Homers).

Quotes to Help With Life: the fourth

Fantasy is an essential tool
Of looking at life
Through the wrong end of a telescope.
- Dr. Seuss (also known as the greatest rapper ever [that's right, better than Blondie])

Not Living a Teenage Dream

Kesha. Miley Cyrus (or Hannah Montana, depending on whether or not you're older than third grade). Who else is horrible? Lady Gaga. Katy Perry (oh Lord, Katy Perry). If you like these people, then you're obviously not one of the twenty percent of people (twenty five percent if we're lucky) that listen to lyrics. If you don't then for once stop "rocking out" to the bland transparent "beat" (notice the quotation marks - popular music these days have mostly no beat. Rhythm, whatever you want to call it, it's not there) and listen to the words. Just let me analyze a few overly popular songs that I have learned (it wasn't too hard) to despise. Okay. Kesha, Take it off (WARNING: THE FOLLOWING LYRICS ARE INTENDED FOR OLDER AUDIENCES. LISTENER DISCRETION IS ADVISED). "There's a place downtown, where the freaks all run around, in a hole in the wall it's a dirty free for all. Turn it on, take it off, take it off, everybody take it off. There's a place I know, if you're looking for a show, where they're so hard core, and there's litter on the floor. Turn it on, take it off, take it off, everybody take it off."
Want analysis? Thought you'd never ask.
Okay, first of all, there's a place downtown where the freaks all run around. Do you know what that MEANS??? It means that she's goes to a place where everyone is trying to make out with each other. "In a hole in the wall it's a dirty free for all." It's a small place (and the song's already so great! [not]) and they all run around trying to have sex (I'm sorry, but that's what it means). And now the best part of all: "take it off". I hope you know what she wants you to take off, but in case you don't, I'll tell you. Your pants. Your shirt. Anything stopping you from having sex. And that's right, this song was a hit. It was on the radios. LITTLE CHILDREN heard this "song" (notice the quotation marks) and you can imagine what the rest of this song was like.
Okay, next analysis. I don't even need to analyze a Miley Cyrus song, just look at her videos. Showing off her legs and butt and chest. How old is she? Seventeen? Sixteen? She dresses like a hoe (I meant the gardening tool! I swear I meant the tool!). And little girls are looking up to this chick? WHAT IS THIS WORLD COMING TO??????
Lady Gaga. Well, come on. It doesn't take a genius to figure out what Lady Gaga was talking about, but in case you have any doubt, just watch her music videos. If you want to see the most disgusting thing ever, watch "Telephone". But please don't, if you're younger than... oh, twenty five. And even then, make sure you feel disgusted. Now, children at the age of, maybe grade three, are singing Lady Gaga songs without the slightest hint of what it actually means. Come on, people. Are we telling children to have IT (the big it, not a little it, the big it) on all radio popular radio stations?
And finally, my favourite. Oh how I hate this one. Katy Perry. Lyrics analysis the second: Katy Perry, Teenage Dream.
"Let's go all the way tonight. No regrets, just love. We can dance until we die. You and I will be young forever."
Okay. In case you are not aware of what the first line means, I will tell you. She is saying that they should have sex. And this song is called Teenage Dream? Katy Perry is literally telling teenagers (ages thirteen to nineteen) that it's okay, respectable even, to have sex as a teen. I don't know about you, but that's just about the worst thing I have ever heard.
Line the second: "No regrets, just love." I think you'd regret it if you got pregnant at age seventeen, what about you? And sex does not equal love, it equals lust. Certainly, sometimes people love each other and do it. Married people, for example. But if you want to take care of yourself, please do not abuse your body by giving yourself away to whoever happens to have a cute haircut.
Line the fourth: "You and I will be young forever". I have just one question for you: If you want to stay young, why are you so eager to grow up?

I don't mean to sound preachy, so please don't think that. I'm just incredibly disgusted at what people are listening to and saying and idolizing these days. And I needed everyone to know. This sort of message is most commonly found in pop music, hence my loathing of it. That's right, I'm a rocker. The people of the rock genre have found a way to deliver meaningful messages while at the same time make it a head banging hit. Now, I'm not saying that all rock music is completely clean. But the genre in general is spotless compared to pop music.
Peace out, Megan

On Pen Pals

Okay, you know, let's just think for a second. Who here has a "pen pal"?
Really! More than I expected. Now here's another question. Who here actually WRITES to their "pen pal"?
Ah! There's the rub! Somewhat less! The minority, I'm afraid, are the ones who actually WRITE to their pen pals.
Now, okay. When I say "write" I don't necessarily mean literally by letter. By email, whatever. How many of you actually make an effort to contact you "pen pal"?
Still not a lot, huh? Well, I've been there. I used to promise to be pen pals with any number of people, but how many of them did I actually write to? Ha! That's right, they were SUCKERS!
But that's supposed to have changed. I email one of my pen pals. Her name was Jakarta and I met her in Puerto Plata around grade three. Now, as usual, I neglected her at first, and that's just usual. But one day I thought "Huh! Remember that girl I was friends with in Dominican! Don't I have her email?" So I looked and I did! So I emailed her and she wrote back! For a while we actually talked to each other and enjoyed each other's emails! But as it turns out, the main source of contact (for people not around her, obviously) was Facebook. She invited me. I refused. My parents didn't let me, and, I'll be honest, I wouldn't have gone on if they had. So now I send Jakarta fruitless emails and she never heeds them. This is like the reverse of what usually happens, at least for me it is. Normally, I'm the one who neglects. I am the neglecter, not the neglectee. But this time that is not the case. I am being neglected. Hmm. Strange feeling. (Right. :P)
So, I'm curious. Any other pen pal stories? Because I find other people's lives interesting. For those wondering, I am not being sarcastic.
